Ok so this was my second attempt at this type of shot so here is my second addition to the family.
She was just 10 days old when this was taken last weekend.

    Shot with a Nikon D300 and 50mm F.18 lens at F4
SB800 at 1/8th power in white umbrella above camera with a second cheap flash behind the basket to light the background.
Both flashes fired using Cacus V2s poverty wizards

As always, comments and criticism appreciated!

Aww, congratulations Neil a lovely shot, one she will thank you for when
she is 16  I think she looks a little precarious atop the basket ( I am sure
she isnt) I think it looks better with a bit of a crop half way up the basket, just
    an opinion of course, :)

Very nice, and congratulations too. As regards Jenny’s suggestion of
cropping, I’d go even farther and crop right up to the rim of the basket
eliminating the weave entirely. Just a suggestion of course. Charming
    portrait of a beautiful baby…

congrats rob, setting up a similar shot myself soon,
i find the flash for the background distracting, so maybe a continuous lighting for that,
composition wise maybe a higher perspective would help, instead of shooting straight on, but keep the framing the same no cropping.
also watch the feet, should be able to see them too,
its hard stuff working with babys
