Lured out of my Northern lair for a day, I found time to take a couple of frames on the streets of Dublin! This lady was knocking out some fine tunes on College Green.
I like the movement in the hand in the second photo.
The eyes seem a little dark/hidden to me in both shots. I think they would have been better if that area was opened up a little, perhaps using the dodge tool.
There also seems to be some unnatural focus/blurring thing going on. In the first one both the foreground and background are in focus but the area in between is not (especially on the left). I am correct in thinking the blur was added in post processing?
Hi davedunne, yes, blurred in post. I think the colour versions and different cropping look better – couldn’t get them uploaded. Have a look at them on Flickr if you like.
